We've had the pleasure to work on several projects for Chattanooga Bakery over the years. Southeast Painters is a Chattanooga-based company. Many of us are from the area, meaning we grew up surrounded by famous iconic brands like Rock City, Ruby Falls, Coca-Cola, and yes, MoonPies. Locally made by Chattanooga Bakery since way back in 1917, MoonPies are more famous than ever and truly known around the world!
“It all began in 1917 when a Kentucky coal miner asked our traveling salesman for a snack “as big as the moon.” Earl Mitchell reported back and the bakery obliged with a tasty treat aptly named MoonPie. It was filling, fit in the lunch pail and the coal miners loved it. The rest, as they say, is history.”

After pressure washing each of the silos, we then hand tooled any areas that were really rough and we addressed any rust issues. We applied Sherwin-Williams Macropoxy 920 to these areas. Macropxy 920 is a two-component, 100% solids penetrating epoxy primer. Designed for use as a primer/sealer over marginally prepared steel or concrete surfaces.

We applied H&C Concrete Stain …it will withstand vehicular traffic, tire marking, and hot-tire pick-up on high traffic surfaces …yes, it is extremely durable.

After drying, we applied a top coat with Sherwin-Williams Acrolon 218. They most certainly have some beautiful silos now at Chattanooga Bakery!
